Lynx

Lynx is a Northern Hemisphere constellation otherwise known as the Lynx. It is one of seven constellations introduced by the 17th century astronomer Johannes Hevelius (Wikipedia) and published in Firmamentum Sobiescianum sive Uranographia in 1687. Lynx remains one of the 88 modern constellations defined by the International Astronomical Union (Wikipedia).

Lynx (abbrev. = Lyn; genitive = Lyncis) covers 545 square degrees or 1.32% of the celestial sphere making it the 28th largest constellation. It contains 97 stars brighter than apparent magnitude 6.5, the brightest star being Alpha Lyncis.
