Newton Observatory and Triple Planetary Alignment - 2013 May 31
The planets Mercury, Venus and Jupiter (top to bottom) appear in a straight line during evening twilight on May 31. Five days after the closest approach of the three planets (see: Triple Planetary Alignment), Jupiter is quickly dropping into the twilight while Venus and Mercury climb higher. In the foreground are the silhouetted domes of Newton Observatory in Arizona Sky Village, Portal, AZ.
